Summary of our TEMPO General Assembly

December 11, 2024

From November 8th-10th, our Tempo GA was held in the city of Rome, Italy. What a meeting it was! It was a weekend filled with engaging conversations, rich exchanges, and diverse topics that brought us closer together as a community.

The weekend began on Friday, for those who arrived early, with a delightful Italian dinner and the opportunity to join with our hosts from the hospitality group, who generously opened their homes to accommodate some of us.

Saturday morning started with a guided tour of Cinecittà, where attendees explored backstage studios, permanent exhibitions featuring original screen costumes, the Felliniana installation, and the iconic sets built for the TV series Rome and other international productions.

After lunch, we held our TEMPO General Assembly, organized in collaboration with AMC, the Italian association. The assembly addressed key topics, including financial reports, potential synergies with other organizations, and strategies for member engagement and the promotion of the editing profession. There were also conversations about AI, with the announcement of the future launch of a new AI Section on the Tempo Forum, which pretends to encourage members to discuss and share AI-related insights. At the closing of the meeting, TEMPO presented AMC President Natalie Cristiani with flowers as a token of appreciation for her exceptional support. The evening continued with a cocktail party offered by TEMPO (thanks to our sponsor Adobe) and hosted  by AMC where Italian editors joined us for networking, individual photos and delicious hors d’oeuvres.

Sunday morning began with a masterclass at Cinema Quattro Fontane, featuring Cristiano Travaglioli, Roberto Perpignani, and Camilla Toniolo, skillfully moderated by Ireland’s Eoin McDonagh. It was a real treat. This was followed by a lunch sponsored by the viewing and sharing platform Mnemonica. The gathering provided more opportunities to connect, laugh, and share stories.

This successful TEMPO event was made possible thanks to the dedication of our present board, the Events Task ForceAMC colleagues (especially Sarah McTeigue, Gaston Solari, Natalie Cristiani, Maria Grazia Pandolfo, Eleonora Marino, Giampiero Gramigna, Francesca Addonizio and Natascia Di Vito),  and all of you who contributed to its success.Let’s ensure we meet again next year!
