The French Editing Festival in March

The French Editing Festival in March

March 18, 2024 | Cinéma Luminor Hôtel de Ville

From  March 13th to 18th will be held in Paris the sixth edition of Les Monteurs s’affichent, LMA’s festival dedicated to highlight the work of editors and the art of editing.

Eight movies, both documentaries and fiction edited by LMA’s members, will be presented, each followed by a discussion with the editors (and directors) explaining how they worked, what process they followed, what cinematic questions they had to face and solve to achieve their work.

Every edition, one foreign country and its editor’s guild is invited for a Carte blanche. This year, our colleagues from KUDA will present one short and one feature film, Navnîşan (The Address) edited by Erhan Örs and Ulysses Çevirmek (Translating Ulysses) edited and directed by Aylin Kuryel and Firat Yücel. They will discuss their work and give us an insight on their activity in Turkish cinema and the main actions of their association.

On Thursday evening, one screening will be dedicated to short movies. During the week-end, two roundtables will take place, one of them exploring the use of archives in editing (on Saturday morning). On Monday evening, the festival will be closed with the premiere of an unreleased documentary, Knit’s Island, shot inside a video game.

All the talks and screenings will be in French except for the Q&A of the international meeting on Sunday afternoon which will be held in English.

If you are in Paris at this time, it will be a pleasure to welcome and meet you.

All informations are available on the festival’s website
