In this special Masterclass produced by NCE (Netherlands Assosciation of Cinema Editors) and IDFA the award-winning editor, producer and director Atanas Georgiev invites us into the world of documentary filmmaking, where editing is as much an art as it is a craft.

With notable works like Honeyland (the first ever film to be nominated both for Best Documentary Feature and Best International Feature Film at the Oscars in 2020), Hollywoodgate (IDFA2023), and Against the Tide (Sundance 2023), Georgiev has earned international recognition for his exceptional storytelling talent in the editing room.

Throughout the session, moderator Annelotte Medema and Atanas Georgiev will break down key decisions that shape the narrative, tone, and pacing of his work.
